Rhymney Brewery Limited is now based in Blaenavon, housed in a purpose built state of the art facility. The business can trace its origin through a complex history of mergers and aquisitions to the ‘Rhymney Brewery and Co. Limited’. The original company began trading in 1839 with Andrew Buchan as its manager. By 1878, this rapidly expanding organisation delivered 12,500 barrels a year to the local market and also to its own 29 tied houses. With a reputation for quality Welsh beer, Rhymney Brewery continued to expand for over 80 years. The business was taken over in the 1960’s by Whitbread, but not before it had amassed a total of over 700 pubs throughout the Welsh valley’s and beyond. Having resurrected the name of Rhymney Brewery, we have developed a reputation for outstanding Welsh beer. Our ales are brewed using traditional ingredients and modern methods. We have also started to build a stock of tied houses, the latest of which is the Railway Inn. Our aim is to provide good food and Welsh ale combined with a friendly service. Welcome and Enjoy!
